PostHeaderIcon How does a person go about getting and English Second Language teaching certificate?

What does a person have to do to get certified to teach ESL? Does it matter what country or language of people you are teaching to? Can you get one certificate that will cover you for any place you want to go teach?

Are there any prerequisites you must have before you can go for this certificate?

Thank you for any help you can give!

PostHeaderIcon What is the best and quickest way to obtain your teaching certificate?

I plan on enrolling in a ESL overseas program, and they will accept a teaching certificate (even emergency teaching certificate). I’ve been in community college for two years now, but I was wondering if there are any particular courses or plans to go about obtaining the emergency teaching certificate and continuing my further education online. Is this possible? Am I very off-course?
